My name is Elvie Choi. I am a writer living in the outskirts of Toronto, Canada.

I take on projects through my boutique creative agency, LVC.

I am a daily survivor of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). I learn and grow from my experience of living with, and healing through it — everyday.

I am also blessed to be called, a mother. My child has been a gift in my life in every way. Ironically, it is my devotion and regard for her that drives my commitment back to loving myself and being authentic to who I truly am — as a lived example. In this way, I also bear a strong affinity to discuss parenting.

It is an honour to share my words with you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here.

I am a storytelling medium. I write for myself; I write for others. What can I write for you?

For “dark mode” users… ;) FYI I’m wearing a vintage 1980’s Jean Muir dress, for those of you who may appreciate that sort of thing.

I am passionate and personally-immersed in subjects related to mental health recovery that is focused on inner work, art, music, culture, spirituality, religion, folk, and occult practices. I am fascinated by the healing experiences and properties found in nature and natural medicines, such as psilocybin research. These are just some of the areas I offer fluency in.

For “light mode” users… lol.

Over many years, I have had the honour to serve in roles on both the frontlines and behind-the-scenes of — customer service, event production, volunteer & intern resources management, communications, career development, artistic programming, hosting & presenting; to board and consultancy positions — for numerous international arts and cultural institutions. I have also shared the stage as part of a Taiko drumming ensemble (visit: RAW).

At heart, I am a storyteller; a community arts worker and a collaborative strategist for inclusivity and engagement. It is my life’s work and a privilege — to investigate, write, hear and share — different stories and narratives.

“Words, words, words,” opined Hamlet. My artistic medium of choice! (Yes, I do know these are metal typerwriter pieces). Image credit for all letterface images.
